PUERTO VALLARTA, MEXICO
5 Days 4 Nights
Do you just love the magic and mystique of olde
Mexico?
This is
tailor-made for you!
Not one-
but 2 cities to enchant you.
Visit the cities back-to-back, or take them
separately.
You have
2
whole years to enjoy these magical getaways!
Puerto Vallarta has all the amenities of a classic beach resort: surf, sand and
sun. But it also offers so much more. Perfect for honeymooners, families and
seniors alike,
Puerto Vallarta offers
sport fishing,
golfing,
horseback riding, hiking and whale watching.
Boasting mountains, jungles,
beaches, rivers and waterfalls, this port is completely
different
from
any other destination in
Mexico.
Puerto Vallarta is a modern destination
that
remains loyal to its traditional Mexican roots.
And that's just scratching
the
surface. When you think of the Mexican Riviera, with its palm-fringed beaches,
luxuriant jungle vegetation and posh resorts, many places come
to mind. But no
resort typifies better the classic Mexican beach vacation
than Puerto Vallarta
does. It has come to be the sixth most popular travel destination in the world.
Therefore, your Puerto Vallarta vacations
guarantee you the utmost entertainment
and relaxation.
Maybe it was the lush tropical climate, or the white
sandy beaches that
first caught the eye of tourists who began to flock to this Mexican
paradise
in the late 19th century. Or maybe it was something more that made John
Huston choose Puerto Vallarta as the setting for “The Night of the Iguana”
(and the headline-grabbing, off-screen romance of Elizabeth Taylor and
Richard Burton). With so much that Puerto Vallarta has to offer, every
moment in this beautiful vacation spot can be shaped to meet your
individual desires.
Find yourself strolling back in time as you meander down the
streets
of the historic area of town, or the village of San Sebastian (15 minutes
by
plane) or follow your own steps to the rhythms of the Mariachi.
Your eyes
can feast on beautiful textiles, original works of art from
local artists and
all over the globe, or the breathtaking beadwork of
the Huichol Indians. Your
mouth will water with anticipation for the
authentic Mexican cuisine, while
chefs from around the world serve up
delicacies in renowned international
restaurants.
You may seek out the
pristine white sand of the beach, or do your
best to avoid it on one of seven
exceptional golf courses. With ample
opportunities for activity at every turn, your adventurous side will never go
unfulfilled, unless, or course, you want
to give it a rest. In that case, Puerto
Vallarta is the ideal location for glorious,
sun-soaked inactivity
Cathedral of Our Lady of
Guadalupe. This is the center of
religious
life in Puerto Vallarta. This Cathedral is the focal point of a
12-day festival
each December. The construction started in 1929 and lasted
approximately
12 years. The interior is filled with hand-carved columns,
decorative moldings and other detailed artistry.
Los
Arcos. This is a federal
underwater eco preserve that offers the opportunity to snorkel and scuba
dive in a rare environment. Go underwater and investigate the brightly
colored fish and steep rock walls that protect this
marine area.
Glass-bottom boat rides are also available.
Boca de Tomatlan. This beach is surrounded
by a tropical jungle
paradise. Choose to explore the jungles by either
safari jeep or horseback.
This place is ideal for water sports because of
its clear, blue waters. You
can rent equipment from local vendors.
Whale Watching.
Each year between January
and March, massive
humpback whales return to their treasured breeding
grounds in the waters
off the coast of Puerto Vallarta. At times, the whales
even appear in
Banderas Bay itself. The great marine mammals are often
visible from
higher coastal vantage points and seaside restaurant balconies.
Organized
tours are available.
Pirate
Cruises: There are companies in Puerto Vallarta that specialize in
taking you on a day or night cruise that features pirate lore, food, snorkeling,
and fun of all kinds. For kids and adults alike, a pirate cruise in Puerto
Vallarta is one of the truly fun things to do in Puerto Vallarta Mexico.
Chico’s Paradise
Restaurant Bar & Grill: This is more than a restaurant, it is a
decades-old tradition: many return visitors to Puerto Vallarta spend a
full
day of their trip at Chico’s. A thirty minute scenic drive from Puerto
Vallarta into the jungle, Chico’s location is unparalleled: complete with
pools and waterfalls for swimming, authentic guacamole, shrimp dishes, and excellent margaritas, Chico’s really is a paradise that many swear by
Bullfights. Traditional bullfights
are presented regularly each Wednesday at La Paloma in the Marina area.
Matadors
appear with the "suit of lights": the sparkling costumes
they
wear to confront the bulls. Bullfighting season is
from November to
April.
Galeria Olinala.
This gallery
features Mexican tribal
art. The artwork you see here is
created by
local artists who are
preserving a tradition and culture. Huichol
beadwork catches the
eye of many visitors, as do the detailed tribal
masks. All artwork
displayed is available for purchase.
Boca de Tomatlan: This
locale is just twenty minutes south
of Puerto Vallarta, but you’ll find it worth
the trip to get off the
tourist beaten path and enjoy the amazing views,
beaches, and
local Mexican living found here.

CANCUN, MEXICO
5 Days 4 Nights
Cancun
History: Cancun is a remarkable story, since it was
just a
small fishing village as recently as 1970. Now two million or so
people per year visit this Yucatan Peninsula city, and the Cancun
attractions they enjoy
keep them coming back for more. Cancun is on the eastern shore
of the
Yucatan Peninsula. Discover the natural beauty of the Yucatan
Peninsula
touched by the influence of both the Mayan and Spanish cultures.

Over 2 million people a
year come to enjoy the sun, surf and culture. Things to do in
Cancun
Mexico can range anywhere from simply lying
on
the beach to taking an excursion to a nearby island. No matter what you
do, the exciting resort atmosphere of Cancun is sure to make your vacation enjoyable.
Little more than twenty years ago, Cancun was just a Mayan
name, a deserted sun drenched piece of land of the northeast tip of the Yucatan peninsula. Now is a resort where you could keep busy 24 hours a day just participating in the many activities and tours available, and yet it remains a tranquil retreat where you could relax to your hearts content.
Cancun is
the ideal place to enjoy sun and beach, and offers extensive shopping
opportunities and a world famous nightlife. Cancun also is the optimal start
point for you to explore tropical coral reefs and jungles and archaeological
sites of the old Mayan world.
Cancun offers
scuba diving excursions that will take you to one of the main Cancun
Mexico attractions: the nearby barrier reef that is the second
largest in
the world. Pulling on the flippers and wetsuits as a family can be one of
the best things to do in Cancun. Cancun, like many other Mexican cities, has great Caribbean snorkeling locations that allow you to see the most colorful tropical fish in the sea. For families with kids old enough,
this is one of the most child-friendly things to do in Cancun.
If landing a
huge marlin off the Yucatan Peninsula is one of your dreams, be sure to take
advantage of the sport fishing found near Cancun. With all kinds
of fishing available here, angling for the big one is one of the most
adventurous things to do in Cancun Mexico.
Beaches
are probably one of the main reasons for your visit.
The powdery, incredibly white sand of the Caribbean blesses all of the beaches in Cancun. The Caribbean Sea is unusually warm with incredibly blue water and at
most times is very calm. Look down any beach, at almost any time, and you will
see people enjoying the calming effects that seem to instantly relieve the
tensions of everyday life.
Cancun is
known for its white sand beaches that meet crystal blue waters.
Despite the attempts of some hotels to claim areas of the beach,
it’s all
public space so enjoy! If crowds aren’t what you’re looking for, steer clear (south) of the main hotel/resort area of Cancun. Crowded or not, the gorgeous Mexico beaches of Cancun are the greatest Cancun attractions.
Topless bathing is an activity that is quietly accepted in
Cancun and many of the surrounding areas along the Mayan Rivera. Total
nudity is
rare (as well as illegal), especially on the major beaches
National Institute of Anthropology and History: On a
rainy
day in Cancun, or if you are just tired of the beach, this
museum at the
Cancun Convention Center is a great place to learn
about the history and
culture of ancient Mexico. Before you visit
Mayan ruins, a trip to this
museum will give you a greater
appreciation of the people who inhabited
these locations. This is
one of the truly educational things to do in
Cancun Mexico.
Take a
Day Trip to Cozumel: Mexico’s largest island and
cruise ship
port is just a boat ride away from Cancun, making it
one of the more
enjoyable Cancun Mexico attractions in its own
right. The unbelievable
beaches of Cozumel, and the water sports that are popular on them, make a
day trip to the island worth your while.
Isla Mujeres: For a
shorter day trip from Cancun,
Check out this
tiny island (named the “Island of Women”
in Spanish), just a 25 minute
ferry from Cancun. The laid back
atmosphere of the island makes it a
great place to just relax and
watch the sun go down, one of the most
peaceful Cancun Mexico
attractions.
With the world
famous Chichen Itza just three hours away from
Cancun, a look at Mayan
Ruins can be a great day trip during your Cancun
getaway. One of the more
culturally significant of the Cancun Mexico
Attractions, a visit here or to the
nearby Tulum ruins is well worth the
transportation it takes to get there.
Travel through terrain that will reveal the secret treasures of the wild.
Encounter the endless varieties of lush green vegetation. Be on the lookout
for
the famous iguanas and tropical birds. Stop at a natural cave to discover
its
underground rivers and cenotes.
Explore this hidden
underground world
and mystical underground lake.
Stop
at beautiful Xpu-ha beach for an hour
and a half of playing and relaxing
under
the golden sun. Swim in the
Caribbean, walk along the
endless stretch
of white sand
beach, soak up
some sun, or just relax in the shade.
Experience
genuine Mexican
hospitality with a buffet-style Mayan lunch.
Explore the open-air market atmosphere
of “Mercado 23" and
"Mercado 28". Find
artisans,
butchers, bakers and
jewelers. Stop and
shop at Pancho Vila’s flea market.
See Cancun’s
true
natural wonder,
the beach. Discover the wonderful restaurants,
resort
hotels, shops and
other
sites that make Cancun so popular.
If you are searching for calm, peaceful
days to enjoy the sun and the
sand, the crystal indigo seas, romantic Caribbean nights, world class
hotels,
restaurants and nightlife; you are thinking about Cancun vacations !
In
your Cancun vacations you can literally choose a pace and lifestyle to
suit any frame of mind, from ultra chic to funky laidback beach bum. Cancun is
a resort for everybody, from college students on a strict budget to the
rich and famous from all over the world. Cancun caters to all who visit and everyone should experience Cancun at least once.
Cancun is definitely Mexico's showcase resort. Few resorts in
the world have the infrastructure and amenities that were built into Cancun from
the beginning. This is one of the reasons that Cancun is Mexico's most popular resort.
