Bungee jumps, speedboats and other thrills on the
beach

In Mexico, culture is expressed
through festivals, fiestas and celebrations all year round.
Nightlife
in Acapulco: Discos, bars and restaurants are all part of
Acapulco life.
The
nightlife in Acapulco has earned the city the label “the city that
never sleeps"; all day long, visitors have a lot to experience, with
night time being no exception.
With countless discos and
nightclubs, Acapulco has something for anyone who
wants to enjoy a night filled with music, cocktails,
and dancing. If looking for a more relaxed evening,
you can enjoy the local cuisine, or visit a
world-class restaurant by the sea.
This is one of the best locations to have fun,
with an unbeatable combination of music, dancing, and multi-colored
lights.
Most of the Acapulco night spots are located
along the Costera Miguel Alemán, such as the popular Hard Rock Café,
Planet Hollywood, El Alebrije, Palladium, and Baby’O. But you can
also celebrate aboard a cruise ship, yacht, or under the moonlight
on Disco Beach.
Among the port city’s many enticing qualities are: its beautiful bay
,
one of the best in the world; the calm waters of its beaches; the
amenities offered by its well established hotel industry, which in
recent years has undergone
a major revamping, especially in the Punta Diamante neighborhood;
and finally, the city’s unbeatable nightlife, which offers one of
the hottest playgrounds among Mexican vacation destinations.
La
Isla de la R
oqueta
(Roqueta Island), an ideal island
setting where you can either relax or enjoy some scuba diving.
You’ll also want to check out the
infamous La Quebrada, where fearless
cliff divers plunge into the ocean below. If
you’re looking for a little excitement of your own, Acapulco
offers bungee jumping and parasailing, where from high above you can
admire the stunning panoramic views of the bay, the hotel zone and
the surrounding mountains, in their utmost splendor.
Nearby Acapulco,
you can visit the beach of Pie de la Cuesta,
known for its spectacular sunsets, or Puerto Marques, with it
beautiful bay and calm waters. Finally, don’t
miss out on Barra
Vieja, where you are sure to enjoy delicious seafood dishes
prepared in traditional Mexican restaurants.
Mexican Food: Mexican
traditional food is at its best in Acapulco. The port offers a
vast array of traditional dishes, as well as international cuisine,
for visitors to taste.
Trying one of the seafood or fish dishes, like ceviche, octopus in
vinegar or its ink, rice with clams, a seafood cocktail, or a
pescado a la talla (fish marinated in spices and grilled over hot
coals) is part of the Acapulco culinary experience — all found along
the beaches.
Those seeking traditional Acapulco food must
visit the Central Market or eateries in Puerto Marqués to discover
the port’s gastronomic roots. Here you can taste local recipes and
snacks like the famous picaditas (fried corn tortillas topped with
serrano chili salsa); juicy pellizcadas (tortillas filled with fish,
olives, and spices); or a fish and yerba santa tamale, known locally
as acuyo.
To round off a typical meal, Acapulco offers
plenty of candies for visitors with a sweet tooth: caramel, coconut,
mango, banana, and tamarind (savory, spicy, or sweet). These are the
local jewels in the culinary crown.
